Learn a bit about it...
DAY 6-7 Heat kiln to 2342 degrees F (cone 10) over the next eight to ten hours. Lower temperature to where crystals grow & hold temperature for 4-7 hours. Lower temperature again to help form "halos" around crystals. Hold for another 1-2 hours. Turn off kiln. After a total of 24 hours of heating, holding and cooling--open the kiln door. Hopefully this will yield a great result. After about 45 years of experience I have learned to be patient and resilient.
DAY 8 Next, grind the biscuits off for a finished piece. My success is based on how precise I have been with my temperatures, how the glaze was applied & the formulations I use to grow the crystals. My crystalline process never ends. I am constantly working on new formulations, tweaking my glazing techniques & adjusting temperatures. A ten degree adjustment at 2100 degrees can make a difference in the final outcome.
